What does a recruitment consultant do?

  • Engage in the entire end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing, qualifying, briefing suitable candidates for interview, through to job offer stage. 
  • Become a market specialist by building and maintaining valuable relationships with clients and candidates. You will be responsible in market mapping, headhunting and business development. 
  • Assess the needs of each client or candidate and respond accordingly.
  • Advise and sell relevant positions to your candidates. You’ll play a part in helping candidates advance their career goals!
  • Build strong networks within your specialism with candidates and clients, that can be converted into commercial opportunities. 
  • Ability to negotiate salaries and contracts. 

What training can I expect?

We believe a Trainee Recruitment Consultant role requires 80% attitude and 20% skill. In our Consultant Development Programme, we help you with the fundamentals of the recruitment process, so you can be confident in becoming a market expert recruiter. 

As a trainee, you will attend an induction course covering the recruitment lifecycle, client/candidate management and recruitment techniques. This is followed by one-to-one coaching and further class training over the course of your first few months.
